About the film
Kuppai is the Tamil word for garbage. In March 2025, at Mampazhathurayaru, Villukuri, in Kanyakumari district, biomedical waste was found dumped beside a reservoir that the surrounding farmland relies on for irrigation.
K for Kuppai was made, in the words of its own narration, so that the matter would not simply pass: to document what was found, to hear from the people who raised it, and to ask what happened next.
It ends on a single line: Kanyakumari is not anyone’s dumping yard.
