Approach
A documentary is an act of attention.
Our method is simple to describe and slow to do. Listen before filming. Stay longer than planned. Make something the people in it would recognise as true.

Principles
Three things we hold to.
They are not rules about cameras or formats. They are about how to behave when someone trusts you with their story.
- 01
Listen first
We arrive without a script. The story belongs to the people living it, and our job is to understand it well enough to tell it faithfully.
- 02
Stay longer
Trust is the only access that matters. It is earned over days and return visits, not negotiated in a morning.
- 03
No empty frames
If a shot does not move the story forward, it does not stay. Beauty is a by-product of clear thinking, not the goal.
Method
From first conversation to final cut.
One team carries a film through all four stages, so the people who earn a community’s trust are the same people who finish the film.
- 01
Listen
Every film starts as a conversation. Before a camera comes out we spend time with the people and the place, until we understand what the story is, who it belongs to and why it should be told now.
- 02
Research
Archives, oral histories, scholars and elders. We work out what is known, what is disputed and what has never been written down, then shape a treatment, an interview plan and a shooting schedule around it.
- 03
Film
A crew sized to the story, working at the pace of the place. We direct, shoot and record sound ourselves, and we would rather wait for a moment than stage one.
- 04
Shape
The film is found in the cut. Edit, sound design, colour and subtitles are finished in-house, then delivered for the screens the film will actually be seen on.
What we make
Documentary, in three forms.
Whether a film starts with us or with you, it is researched, filmed and finished the same way.
- 01
Independent documentaries
Films we originate ourselves, on the cultures, histories and communities of South India.
- 02
Commissioned documentaries
For institutions, foundations, communities and companies with a true story worth preserving. The same method and the same standards, made to a brief.
- 03
Oral history and archive
Long-form interviews and recorded testimony, filmed with care so that a memory outlives the people who hold it.

Bring us the story. We will bring the method.
